The Christmas Spirit is Alive All Year Long

Every day, crafters are busy creating their best handmade gifts for holiday fairs that thousands of people count on for their holiday giving. Grandma is adding the newest additions to the family onto her list of stockings to create in time for Christmas. You have found the perfect spot for that new wall hanging to adorn your walls with Christmas joy before the family arrives. Your Christmas music playlist is needing some new songs, and you can’t help but feel the Christmas Spirit in the air!

Around mid-June, many Christmas tree farmers are beginning to trim and shape their prized trees. We imagine they could be caught smiling and whistling even as they work in the summer heat! Many candy companies begin creating sweet treats up to six months before Christmas so stores can begin filling their shelves as early as possible, it sometimes seems.

Here’s one you maybe haven’t heard of, Christmas in May. Modeled after a national program, groups of volunteers in the Chaska, Minnesota community get together for one day every May to do free home repairs for those who are unable to handle all the repairs themselves. They paint. They repair. They spruce up the curb appeal and landscape. Christmas in May Chaska has been blessing the elderly, low-income, and disabled homeowners now for 26 years.

Are you thinking of someone right now who you’d like to bless too? There’s lots to choose from in our Christmas in July sale. When we live like we don’t have to put Christmas “away”, we can find ourselves caught up in the Christmas Spirit, always thinking and planning, dreaming up something new and creative, thinking of gifts year-round for the people we love.

Remember, it is never too early or too late to show some Christmas spirit, friends. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas in July!
